New Delhi: Good things come to those who ear. Hoping to strike the right chord in India’s premium true wireless earbuds market, JBL has unveiled its new Live 4 series, introducing an upgraded Smart Charging Case, improved active noise cancellation, AI-enhanced calling and deeper personalisation features.
The latest range, comprising the JBL Live Buds 4 and JBL Live Beam 4, builds on the company’s previous generation of earbuds while debuting JBL Smart OS 3.0, a redesigned software platform that powers the Smart Charging Case. The company said the updated case now functions as a control hub, allowing users to manage playback, notifications, equaliser settings and other frequently used features without reaching for their smartphones.
Both models feature 10 mm dynamic drivers with Hi-Res Audio certification, JBL Spatial Sound, Personi-Fi 3.0 for customised audio profiles, Personal Sound Amplification and Low Volume EQ. The company has also upgraded its True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 technology with new algorithms designed to block more ambient noise while maintaining audio quality.
Calling has also received a significant upgrade. The earbuds pack six microphones supported by an AI-trained algorithm that filters out background disturbances such as traffic, fans and even slamming doors during voice calls. Additional features include Call Equaliser and Sound Level Optimiser to improve voice clarity.
Commenting on the launch, HARMAN India, head, consumer audio India, Shekhar Datta said consumers increasingly expect their personal audio devices to adapt to the way they live and listen. He said the Live 4 series combines a more intuitive Smart Charging Case with richer sound, smarter noise cancellation and greater everyday versatility, reflecting JBL’s focus on delivering practical innovation alongside premium listening experiences.
The Smart Charging Case itself has received a noticeable makeover. It now sports a larger display with a refreshed interface, allowing users to swipe through controls, customise the home screen with shortcuts, change themes and even add personal photos as wallpapers.
Battery life varies between the two models. The JBL Live Buds 4 delivers up to 32 hours of playback with Bluetooth and active noise cancellation enabled, extending to 40 hours with ANC switched off. The JBL Live Beam 4 offers up to 40 hours with ANC on and as much as 48 hours with ANC off. Both support wireless charging and a quick 10-minute charge that provides up to four hours of playback.
The earbuds will be available in multiple colour options, with the Live Buds 4 offered in Black, Blue, Silver and Sand, while the Live Beam 4 adds Green, Orange and Purple to the palette. Both models are priced at Rs 24,999.
The JBL Live 4 series goes on sale from August 6 through JBL India’s website and leading retail and e-commerce platforms. With AI-powered features, smarter controls and a refreshed design, the company is betting that convenience will be just as important as sound quality for the next generation of wireless audio users.
