Srinagar, Aug 9: Srinagar Police have arrested a routine fraudster for allegedly duping businessmen and shopkeepers via fraudulent means and impersonation.
In a satement issued, the police recognized the accused as Ubaid Maqbool Khawaja, son of Maqbool Ahmad Khawaja, resident of Gomal Chek, Tangdar, presently residing at Habib Colony, Alochi Bagh. He was arrested in reference to FIR No. 45/2026 registered at Police Station Maharaj Gunj below Sections 318(4) and 319 BNS.
Police mentioned the accused has cheated a number of merchants throughout the Valley. A number of complaints have been acquired towards him from completely different areas, and he’s already dealing with instances at varied police stations.
These embody FIR No. 76/2022 below Part 430 IPC at Police Station Kothibagh and FIR No. 83/2023 below Sections 201, 379, 416 and 430 IPC at Police Station Pulwama.
