A freak last-ball run-out saw Himmat Singh accidentally kick the ball onto the stumps after a misfield, tying a DPL thriller before Outer Delhi Warriors won the Super Over.

There are crazy cricket run-outs, and there’s one that happened in the Delhi Premier League on Tuesday (August 4). Himmat Singh of the New Delhi Tigers earned a last-ball run-out to tie a game by — some dumb luck — kicking the ball in frustration after misfielding it only moments ago.
Outer Delhi Warriors were at 155/8 and needed one run to win off the last ball. The bowler, Laxman, bowled a good yorker outside the off-stump and the batter, Pratham Saluja, could only hack it to mid-off. Himmat Singh came running in and tried to collect it, but the ball hit his wrists and rolled away.
With Saluja still running to the non-striker’s end, Himmat realised his mistake and looked at the ball with disappointment before kicking it with sheer anger. It somehow hit the base of the stumps and took out the bails, all before the run could be completed. Watch it here:
The unbelievable dismissal tied the rain-affected 15-over contest at 155, but Outer Delhi Warriors eventually held their nerve to win the Super Over and register their first victory of the DPL 2026 season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
New Delhi Tigers posted an imposing 155/5 thanks to a good 101-run partnership between Himmat Singh, who blasted 61 off just 25 balls, and Lakshay Thareja, who remained unbeaten on 62 from 41 deliveries.
Outer Delhi Warriors looked down and out at 80/5 before Monu Shukla launched a sensational counterattack, smashing 45 off only 17 balls to drag his side back into the contest. Shukla then continued his heroics in the Super Over, helping Warriors post 20 runs before the Tigers failed to match the target.
Reflecting on the dramatic win, Shukla said, “It feels great to register our first win of the season. We had come very close in the previous match but couldn’t finish the job, so the team was naturally disappointed. This victory has given us a lot of confidence, and everyone is very happy with the result.”
The all-rounder also described the surreal final-ball sequence that sent the match into a Super Over.
“Initially, when the fielder fumbled, we thought the game was ours. But when the ball hit the stumps, it was a heartbreaking moment for us. Thankfully, we stayed positive, won the Super Over, and in the end, luck smiled on us.”
