MG Starlight 560 Launch Date Revealed

JSW MG has shared an invite for a launch happening on 28th August. While the brand has not shared any extra details about which model could be launched on that day, we expect it to be the Starlight 560-based SUV. This new 7-seater is due for launch, and our sources have already hinted at a launch happening this month.

Some industry sources also suggest that MG might call this new 7-seater Hector Hawk, but it is yet to be confirmed. Pricing-wise, expect this new 7-seater to range between Rs. 20 lakh – Rs. 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

What Else?

The Starlight 560-based SUV will be rivalling the likes of Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Tata Safari in India. To stand out from rivals, MG will include a plug-in hybrid powertrain setup. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine will be paired with a 20kWh battery pack, delivering an exhilarating range of over 1000km (claimed) on a full tank.

In terms of features, this MG isn’t quite as loaded as the Mahindra XUV 7XO, but offers some equipment like: a 12.8-inch infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, powered and ventilated front seats, six-speaker sound system, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, six airbags as standard, and ADAS.

That said, with the new plug-in hybrid tech, it will be an interesting 7-seater SUV for those who want a family SUV with good mileage.
