OPPO has released an affordable smartphone, the A7 Pro Max 5G. It is the brand’s first phone with a 10,000 mAh battery and the world’s first with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor. Among the interesting features are a 50 MP front camera and a notification indicator on the back.
The test results that appeared before the smartphone’s release indicate a processor configuration that combines two Cortex-A78 cores with a clock frequency of 2.40 GHz and six A55 cores at a frequency of 2.02 GHz. The Adreno 629 GPU is responsible for graphics reproduction in the chip. The phone is also equipped with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The A7 Pro Max features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 x 1272, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, 10-bit color, and a peak brightness of up to 1800 nits. The touchscreen has a sampling rate of up to 330 Hz.
The phone features a 50MP front-facing camera, while the rear has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s also a notification LED on the back, which is rare on smartphones these days. Both the front and rear cameras only support video recording at resolutions up to 1080p.
The huge capacity Glacier battery, which uses OPPO’s patented silicon-carbon technology, also charges quickly. It supports charging up to 80W and reverse charging up to 27W. There is also an optical fingerprint scanner built into the display, stereo speakers with up to 300% volume boost, NFC, IR blaster, Wi-Fi 5, and protection class IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K.
The OPPO A7 Pro Max is available in Wave Rider, Orange Glow, and Mountain Black colors. Its price in China starts at ~$325 for the 8GB/128GB model, ~$400 for the 12GB/256GB variant, and ~$445 for the 12GB/512GB version. The global availability of the A7 Pro Max is yet to be announced.
