The BJP stated the district unit of Anantnag held “an unauthorized Tiranga Rally”. “The rally was neither organized nor licensed by the BJP’s Anantnag unit nor had it obtained the requisite permission from the district administration,” stated the BJP.
The BJP stated it took critical observe of the objectionable and derogatory remarks, ‘’Maklow Azi Hund Te Fazi Hund Azat’, (Honour of Azi and Fazi has ended with abrogation of Article 370.
“Such conduct is unacceptable and is in opposition to the values, self-discipline, dignity, and ideas of the BJP,” stated the BJP.
In the meantime, suspended BJP employees tendered apology on social media platforms for the slogan, which was apparently counter to National Conference (NC) age-old slogans of relating Article 370 with the honour of native ladies.
Senior NC chief and Minister Sakina Ittoo had sought FIR into the incident. “If the BJP genuinely believes that the conduct of these concerned was flawed, it should transcend symbolic statements. An FIR must be registered in opposition to these accountable, and applicable authorized and disciplinary motion should be taken,” stated Ms. Ittoo.
She stated the “irresponsible and derogatory” slogans raised by the BJP Anantnag unit “have been an insult not solely to political discourse however to the dignity of our Kashmiri moms and sisters”.
“On one hand, they preach “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”: on the opposite, they shamelessly demean the honour of the ladies of Kashmir for political mileage. Such language has no place in a civilised democracy and should be unequivocally condemned,” stated the minister.
