Sri Lanka Women Preview

Sri Lanka Women head into the 3rd and final T20I of the series on the back off a clinical six-wicket victory over Pakistan Women in the second T20I match as they chased down a score of over 170 for the 2nd consecutive time.

Bowling first, Sri Lanka pulled things back after a difficult powerplay where Pakistan got off to a flying start. Young spinner Chamudi Praboda led the bowling attack brilliantly, breaking the opening partnership and taking 2/27 in her four overs. Sugandika Kumari, Kavisha Dilhari, and captain Chamari Athapaththu chipped in with a wicket each to restrict Pakistan to 175/5.

In reply, Sri Lanka made light work of the 176-run target. Skipper Athapaththu set the aggressive tone with a rapid 40 off 15 balls. Sanjana Kavindi kept the chase firmly on track with a brilliant 46. Harshitha Samarawickrama (37*) and Kavisha Dilhari (14*) then safely guided the team home in 17.4 overs to seal the win.

Pakistan Women Preview

Pakistan Women’s poor run of form on the tour of Sri Lanka continues as they failed to defend a score of over 170 runs for the 2nd consecutive time. After opting to bat first in the 2nd T20I, Pakistan set up a strong total of 175/5 in 20 overs.

Captain Muneeba Ali (45) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (48) provided a flying start with a brilliant 90-run opening stand. Eyman Fatima added late firepower with an unbeaten 30 off 19 balls to push the score past 170.  However, Pakistan’s bowling attack struggled once again to contain Sri Lanka’s aggressive batters.

Off-spinner Umm-e-Hani was the only standout bowler, picking up 2/28 in her four overs, including the crucial wicket of Chamari Athapaththu. The rest of the attack was expensive and failed to pick up wickets at key moments, allowing Sri Lanka to chase down the target in just 17.4 overs and lose the series.

Toss Prediction: Sri Lanka Women to win the coin toss

Sri Lanka Women enter this contest as the favorites to win. Having already secured the series 2-0, the home team has been clinical after an initial hiccup in the first ODI, and they now aim to close out the series with a clean sweep. On the other hand, Pakistan Women, despite posting big scores, have failed to defend totals due to their inexperienced bowling attack. We predict Sri Lanka Women will win this match and sweep the series 3-0.
