Beijing-Manchester Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Russia Following Mechanical Issue

A business flight, carrying over 230 passengers, travelling from China to the UK, was pressured to make an emergency touchdown in Russia after encountering a mid-air technical downside, Metro.UK reported. 

The incident occurred on August 15, 2026, when Hainan Airways Flight HU753 departed from Beijing, heading for Manchester Airport. 

About 4 hours into the journey, sensors on the Airbus A330-300 detected a mechanical fault whereas flying over Siberia.

The flight crew issued an emergency sign and diverted the jet to Krasnoyarsk Worldwide Airport.

As confirmed by the airline, the flight suffered a ‘mechanical fault’. Russian emergency groups deployed to the airport runway as a precaution. The plane landed safely at 6:28 am native time.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed that no accidents or deaths occurred, and neither the airplane nor the bottom services suffered any injury.

Hainan Airways issued a press release apologising for the disruption and confirmed plans to ship a alternative plane to Krasnoyarsk. 

“On 15 August 2026, our flight HU753 (Beijing–Manchester) diverted to Krasnoyarsk Worldwide Airport in Russia as a result of a mechanical fault. The flight landed safely at 07:28 Beijing time,” Hainan Airways mentioned in a press release.

“The corporate plans to switch the plane to function the onward flight. We are going to correctly prepare passenger service help to make sure protected arrival on the vacation spot. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience induced to passengers.”
