The story to this point: The Registrar Basic and Census Commissioner of India (RG&CCI) on August 14, 2026, notified a set of 40 questions for Inhabitants Enumeration — the second section of Census 2027.

The Inhabitants Census train is finished in two phases: the Housing and Home Itemizing Operations (HLO), and Inhabitants Enumeration, spanning over 11 months. The HLO section is to be concluded by September 30 throughout the nation. Barring few States equivalent to West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Tripura and Tamil Nadu, the HLO section has been concluded elsewhere.
