Google Search Testing Sign In To Verify Searches Are Human

Google Bot Verification Run

Google Search is testing asking searchers to sign in to verify they are humans and not bots conducting the searches.

I don’t think Google has done this before, geneally when Google tries to verify human versus bot activity, Google will serve a captcha and has done so for many years. But this test is asking the searcher to sign in.

Google will stop showing you search results, as you click through the pages, and say “Sign in to verify you’re a human and see more results.”

I cannot replicate this but Kamlesh Shukla posted about this on X and said, “Google Search in Chrome Incognito now asks users to ‘Sign in to continue’ after browsing beyond the first few pages of results. This wasn’t happening earlier.”

Here is his screenshot:

I mean, signing in seems like a pretty good verification that the user is human in this case.

But again, I cannot replicate this, I tried with numerous searches, browsers, and still cannot replicate this. Can you?
